Mail Policy

Mail has always been an important element of life at RJC, youth look forward to receiving letters as well as sending them out to friends and family. It's a way for them to stay connected.

  • RJC supplies stamps for residents to write one letter daily.
  • Parents may provide pre-stamped envelopes from the post office to mail more than one letter daily.
  • Residents receive mail daily except on weekends or holidays.
  • Staff search all mail prior to distribution to residents for contraband.
  • Notes or non-stamped US mail is not allowed at RJC.
  • RJC staff will censor mail with supervisor review when there is reasonable cause to believe there is a security threat to staff, residents, program or community.
