Anoka County is part of the metro-wide Fair Housing Implementation Council that is working to address fair housing issues. It's a great time to refresh your Fair Housing knowledge. ECHO Minnesota released a video called "A Good, Safe Place" highlighting the important things to remember in the landlord / renter relationship.

A Regional Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing has been completed. Within this analysis there was an assessment of fair housing activities looking at the enforcement and jurisdictional activities. With this information Anoka County and other local jurisdictions are working to address the impediments and barriers found in the report. Learn more about the Twin Cities Fair Housing Implementation Council (FHIC).
Written comments accepted through September 21, 2020 with a Public Hearing scheduled on September 22, 2020.

Addendum Regional Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing
The FHIC is seeking public comments on the updated Regional Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing (AI Addendum). The Addendum specifically addresses housing discrimination, gentrification and displacement, barriers to housing choice, and the conditions of segregation and integration in the seven-county area that includes Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott and Washington Counties in Minnesota.
This fair housing planning is required of communities that receive certain funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
