Construction Weekly Updates for Week Ending November 3, 2023
Please note that this week is the last Construction Weekly of the season. We will resume this weekly posting in Spring 2024.

U.S. HIGHWAY 10 Ramsey Gateway Project
The Ramsey Gateway Highway 10 Project is a two-year construction project that will begin in Spring 2024. The project consists of two grade-separated interchanges at Ramsey Boulevard and Sunfish Lake Boulevard that will replace existing signalized intersections. Grade separation of the BNSF Railway and a new frontage road between Ramsey Boulevard and Sunfish Lake Boulevard are also part of this project.
NO NEW UPDATE:
The contractor is scheduled to start work on November 6th. Work shall include concrete curb, bituminous pavement, and a temporary signal system on Riverdale Drive. Please reference this website for additional information https://www.anokacountymn.gov/3918/Hwy-10Ramsey-Blvd-Interchange

CSAH 1 (Coon Rapids Blvd) at Xavis Street and CSAH 1 (Coon Rapids Blvd) at CSAH 18 (Crooked Lake Blvd)
The Xavis project will replace the 45-year-old traffic control signal system. Other project elements include upgrading the existing pedestrian ramps to current ADA standards and adding accessible pedestrian signal (APS) capabilities. The CSAH 1 (Crooked Lake Blvd) project will modify the existing traffic signal system to incorporate accessible pedestrian signal (APS) system functions along with geometric changes to the pedestrian ramps. Construction is anticipated to be completed by the end of November 2023.
The contractor has completed all work at CSAH 18 (Crooked Lake Blvd). A new signal loop detection will be installed at Xavis on November 8 & 9, weather permitting. Direct River Drive will be closed the week of November 6, to allow the contractor to fix the subgrade at the city intersection.

CSAH 1 (Coon Rapids Boulevard) at Mississippi Boulevard
The project will replace the existing traffic signal, update the existing pedestrian accommodations to current ADA standards and include the addition of a flashing yellow arrow (FYA) to improve the signal system operation and efficiency. The project will also include an additional left turn lane on Mississippi Boulevard, as well as a mill & overlay on Coon Rapids Boulevard thru the intersection. Construction is anticipated to be completed by the end of September 2023.
NO NEW UPDATE:
The contractor is waiting for the delivery of the new signal system steel. Otherwise, this project is substantially completed; the remaining punch list items are to be completed.
CSAH 18 (Coon Creek Boulevard) Bridge Reconstruction
This project includes the reconstruction and widening of Bridge 02549 on CSAH 18 over Coon Creek in the City of Coon Rapids.
NO NEW UPDATE:
The contractor is scheduled to start work on November 6. Work shall include closing the road at Coon Creek, bridge removal, bituminous pavement removal, and tree removal.
CSAH 22 (Viking Boulevard) Bridge Reconstruction
This project includes the reconstruction and widening of Bridge 02519 on CSAH 22 over the Rum River in the City of Oak Grove.
NO NEW UPDATE:
The contractor is scheduled to start work on November 6. Work shall include shifting traffic to the south side of the existing bridge, temporary road widening, and tree removal.
2023 Overlay Program
The following County Roads are included in the 2023 county-wide resurfacing program:
7th Avenue (CSAH 7) from the Rum River Bridge to 186th Lane – Reclaim and Overlay
UPDATE: This project is substantially completed; the remaining punch list items are to be completed.
Cleary Road (CR 66) from Viking Blvd (CSAH 22) to St. Francis Blvd (T.H. 47) – Reclaim and Overlay
UPDATE: The contractor installed the final lift of bituminous on November 3. Next week the contractor will install a gravel shoulder, topsoil in slope and bituminous driveways throughout the project.
