  1. Auctioneer's License

    Auctioneers Must be Licensed

    Minnesota Statute 330 requires that:

    • Auctioneers who reside in Minnesota must be licensed in their county of residence.
    • Out-of-state auctioneers, in Minnesota for an auction, need to apply for an Auctioneer License three weeks in advance with bond, application, Irrevocable Consent, copy of home state's license and auctioneer statute. Minnesota must verify reciprocity before Anoka County can issue a license to an out-of-state auctioneer. 

    How To Obtain

    Resident Auctioneers

    • Fill out the Auctioneer License application form (PDF) and the Certification of Compliance form (PDF).
    • The application form must also be signed by a Notary Public (it can be notarized at the Government Center Vital Records Office).
    • Submit the forms with required fee to the Government Center Vital Records Office (in person or by mail)
    • This license cannot be obtained at Anoka County License Centers.
    • A surety bond is required in the amount of $1,000 - $3000, designating Anoka County on the line that reads "bound onto _______." (Obligee)

    Out-of-State Auctioneers

    Out-of-state auctioneers must also submit:

    • Irrevocable Consent to Service of Process form
    • Copy of home state's auctioneer license
    • Copy of auctioneer statute from home state.

    Required Identification

    • Notarization requires a Driver's License or State Identification Card.

    Required Fees

    • $20
  2. Liquor License

    This information applies only to Linwood Township.  An application must be approved by Linwood Township Board before submitting to Anoka County.  All applications must be submitted a minimum of two months in advance of the event.

    All other liquor licensing in the county are handled by the cities.

    How To Obtain

    • Fill out all three pages of the Liquor License application form and the Certification of Compliance form.
    • The application form must also be signed by a Notary Public.
    • Submit the required forms with fee to the Vital Records Office (in person or via mail).

    Required Identification

    • Temporary Beer Event - $50
    • Temporary Liquor Event - $75
  3. Precious Metal Dealer License

    Minnesota Statute 325F.733 subd.1 requires that any establishment dealing with the sale or commercial use of secondhand platinum, gold, and/or silver in Anoka County must obtain a Precious Metal Dealer License.

    How To Obtain

    • Fill out the Precious Metal Dealer License application form and the Certification of Compliance form.
    • The application form must also be signed by a Notary Public, a service available at the Government Center Vital Records Office.
    • Submit the forms with required fee to the Vital Records Office in person or via mail
    • This license cannot be obtained at Anoka County License Centers.

  4. Transient Merchant License

    Minnesota Statute 329.11 requires that any out-of-state business coming into Anoka County to sell goods or services must purchase a Transient Merchant License. The license is valid for one year, only at the place indicated on the original application.

    How To Obtain

    • Fill out the Transient Merchant License application form and the Certification of Compliance form.
    • The application form must also be signed by a Notary Public, a service available at the Government Center Vital Records Office.
    • Submit the form in person, with required fee, to the Government Center Vital Records Office in person or via mail.
