Anoka County Statewide Health Improvement Partnership

Anoka County Statewide Health Improvement Partnership (SHIP) is working to create healthier communities across the county by expanding opportunities for active living, healthy eating, and tobacco-free living.

Good health is created where we live, work, learn, and play. Schools, businesses, apartment owners/managers, farmers, community groups, senior organizations, hospitals, clinics, planning entities, Chambers of Commerce, faith communities, and many more partners are creating better health together through SHIP across the county.

For more information about the work Anoka County SHIP has done in our community, please view our Overview and Impact Fact Sheets.

How Does SHIP Work?

SHIP promotes health and wellness throughout Anoka County by forming partnerships with organizations located throughout the county. During this partnership, SHIP staff works with champions from the organization through the following steps:

1. Conducting an assessment of wellness at the organization

2. Identifying opportunities for improvement in various wellness-related areas

3. Implementing an intervention using evidenced-based strategies

4. Evaluating the intervention, and adjusting as needed to maintain success
