Dear Anoka County Residents,
Where 2020 felt like everything was on pause, 2021 was a year of hustle and agility for staff in the Anoka County Attorney’s Office. At the outset of 2021, things were tenuous: court hearings remained virtual or stayed and the major backlog of cases was looming; chaos in the nation’s capitol resulted in stress for local governments; staff navigated their own personal health and challenges while keeping up with the demands of work. What We Do
Each of Minnesota’s 87 counties has an elected County Attorney who is the chief prosecutor for that jurisdiction. The Office of the County Attorney handles a wide spectrum of cases, including felony criminal prosecutions, child support enforcement, juvenile delinquency and child protection matters, as well as providing civil legal counsel for county administration. The Anoka County Attorney’s Office also has an in-house Investigations Unit and Victim/Witness Services division.
