Final Report
Through robust public and stakeholder involvement efforts and after a thorough review by public officials, the Study Team has finalized the CSAH 34 (Birch Street) Corridor Study. The final corridor plan includes an innovative approach to staging the recommended corridor improvement strategies, using a Flexible implementation plan and allowing for project phasing as funding opportunities arise. The Study Team wishes to thank all those that participated in the study process, especially members of the Neighborhood Advisory Committee, other stakeholders, and citizens who provided valuable insights. Background
The primary study area spans the entire length of CSAH 34, extending from CSAH 49 (Hodgson Road) on the west to CSAH 54 (20th Street) on the east. A secondary study area includes investigating a possible extension of CSAH 34 over I-35E to connect to County Road 84 (Otter Lake Road), a north and south collector. Visit the maps page for an image of the corridor.
The study will produce a preferred roadway concept and final report that will allow the city and county to pursue planning activities such as right-of-way preservation, access management, and official mapping for the proposed 4.3-mile corridor. Anoka County and the City of Lino Lakes have hired SRF Consulting Group, Inc. to assist in these activities. The study, which began in November 2008, will continue over the next 18 months.
