Getting to the University of Minnesota

Getting to Guide UMN Header

Traveling between the U of M and Anoka County has never been easier—or cheaper

For the 2023-24 school year, all U of M students have access to the Universal Pass, an unlimited transit pass good for nearly all Metro Transit services. The cost is included with the Transportation and Safety fee. *

Anoka County has multiple transit routes that go directly to the U or have an easy connection to the METRO Green Line and other routes that go through campus, like Route 3. With your U-Card, getting to and from anywhere in the Twin Cities is easy—and you've already paid for it!

*Stored fare value is required for Northstar trips to/from Ramsey, Elk River, and Big Lake.
