Visiting Information

General Information

Visiting at the Anoka County Jail is still impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. In order to ensure the safety of the public, detainees, staff and professional visitors we will continue to follow the best practice recommendations from the MDH and CDC. In keeping with the recommendations of these agencies, we are easing some of the restrictions previously in place. See below for details specific to inmate visitation.

  • Professional Visits – On-site visits by attorneys and other professionals are still discouraged. It is recommended such visits take place by phone or video. If an on-site visit is necessary, it will be a non-contact visit through glass.  Please note, due to the limited number of video systems and non-contact rooms, there may be a delay in setting up a meeting.
  • Social Visits –  On-site video visits between inmates and outside visitors are available.  We ask that visitors arrive no more than five minutes before their scheduled visiting time and avoid congregating in the jail lobby. Visitors who are displaying COVID-19 symptoms will be denied a visit. Off-site video visits can still be conducted remotely via our service agreement with ICSolutions for a fee. You can find further information about that and sign up for visits here
