Victim / Offender Dialogue

Victim/offender dialogues are voluntary and are offered to victims of crime. These dialogues/conferences provide a safe place for the victim(s) and their support persons to share their story and the impact of the crime. Victims are able to ask their offenders questions and make recommendations about how they feel the harm can be repaired. Victims and their input are essential to the process.

The conference is conducted by two volunteer facilitators from the community at a neutral site. Participants are individually prepared in advance during a pre-conference and are informed about how the process works. Victims share what they would like to see as outcomes of the experience. Both parties come together at a later date to participate in a dialogue.

These services are free of charge. For more information, contact Mediation and Restorative Services at 763-422-8878.
