There are lots of things happening with SHIP partnerships in Anoka County including our 2022 SHIP Neighborhood Mini-Grants, kicking off our new Workplace Wellness partnerships and networking opportunities, expanding our work into mental well-being, and ongoing projects with both new and long-standing partners. 2022 SHIP Neighborhood Mini-Grants Applications are now OPEN!Anoka County Public Health, in partnership with the Minnesota Department of Health and the Statewide Health Improvement Partnership (SHIP) grant, is pleased to announce applications for our mini-grant opportunity for community organizations, neighborhoods and/or groups located within Anoka County is now open.
Mini-grant applications are being accepted starting January 10th, 2022 through February 28th, 2022.
Organizations can apply for mini-grants for up to $3,000 to increase social connectedness of a neighborhood, community, group, etc. with a focus on health through physical activity, healthy eating, mental well-being, and smoke free living. Priority will be given to projects that support populations experiencing health inequities.

Meet our new Workplace Wellness EducatorCole Hanson joined the Anoka County SHIP Team as our Workplace Wellness Educator in August 2021. With a breadth of experiences ranging from insurance sales, to market research, to program design and delivery, Cole prides himself on being able to meet employers and workers where they are on their organizations' wellness journey with curiosity and candor. He has deep roots in Anoka. having grown up either on his family's farm in the St. Francis area, or in the family restaurant in Ham Lake. Cole is a proud parent, a registered dietitian nutritionist, and a graduate of the University of Minnesota's School of Public Health with a Masters in Public Health.

Moving from Surviving to Thriving hosted by the Mental Wellness Campaign for Anoka CountyBurnout is an epidemic. Over the last two years its rate has doubled in the general population. Join the Mental Wellness Campaign of Anoka County for the first presentation of this education series on February 15, 2021 at 6:30pm. Dr. Cory Martin will talk about how common burnout is and the consequences of our personal wellbeing, the organizations we work with, and the people we care for. He shares simple efficient, scientifically proven techniques to combat and prevent burnout that result in improve health, happiness, and relationships. Anoka County COVID-19 Resources Anoka County SHIP has compiled a variety of resources to support the community during this time. We have created a web page with links to resources for various topics including food access, physical activity, tobacco cessation, mental well-being, and violence prevention. There are also resources specific to youth/families, seniors, food shelves, schools, and workplaces.
