TRANSPORTATION

STATE BONDING FUNDING FOR RIGHT-OF-WAY ACQUISITION FOR TEN EXPANSION (RATE) PROGRAM

The Anoka County Board of Commissioners recommends: State bonding funding of $10 million per year for the Right-of-Way Acquisition for Ten Expansion (RATE) projects in Anoka County on US Highway 10 from Armstrong Boulevard in the city of Ramsey through Fairoak Avenue in the city of Anoka.

STATUS:

STATE BONDING TO EXPAND US HIGHWAY 10 FROM FOUR LANES TO SIX LANES THROUGH COON RAPIDS

The Anoka County Board of Commissioners recommends: State Trunk Highway Funds for bonding of up to $42 million for the US Highway 10 expansion from four lanes to six lanes, through Coon Rapids.

US HIGHWAY 10 PROJECTS AT FAIROAK AND THURSTON, RAMSEY BOULEVARD AND SUNFISH LAKE BOULEVARD

The Anoka County Board of Commissioners recommends: Bonding for US Highway 10 Projects at Fairoak and Thurston, Ramsey Boulevard and Sunfish Lake Boulevard.

STATUS:

I-35 INTERCHANGE PROJECT AT TH 97/CSAH 23

The Anoka County Board of Commissioners recommends: State bond funding for the rehabilitation of the bridge located at the I-35 Interchange at TH 97/CSAH 23 in the city of Columbus, and that additional funds be appropriated for the interchange to allow for improved traffic safety.

STATUS:

HUMAN SERVICES

The Anoka County Board of Commissioners recommends: A legislative policy change to “UN-do” a state law by eliminating the additional 20 percent income withholding requirement for child support, if there is a court-ordered payback. Thus, the obligor would pay either the specific amount ordered by the court OR the additional 20 percent, but not both.

STATUS:

FISCAL DISPARITIES

The Anoka County Board of Commissioners recommends: Any changes being made to the Fiscal Disparities Program should only be considered within a framework of comprehensive property tax reform. Anoka County opposes future diversion from the Fiscal Disparities Program to fund specific programs or projects, as this would contradict the purposes of the program.
