Access Permits

An Access Permit is required for any new driveway, field entrance, street, or commercial access on Anoka County road. If a change in the use of property that is adjacent to the county road occurs, the county has the right to review access to the county road and require a new permit.

How to Apply

A Site Review must be performed by the Anoka County Traffic Department prior to the issuance of an Access Permit. Please submit a request with a detailed sketch to HighwayPermits@anokacountymn.gov to begin the site review process.

Street or Drive Access Permit Fees

• Agricultural Field Access: $175
• Residential Single Driveway: $175
• Temporary Construction Access: $250
• Street Access/Connection: $400
• New Development/Commercial Driveway: $400

Culvert Pipes

A culvert pipe is generally required unless curb is present. The permit holder is required to provide a pipe that meets county standards.
