Project Summary
Project Background/Description
This project involves the reconstruction of the intersection of Lake Drive NE (County Highway 23) and Kettle River Boulevard NE (County Highway 62). Planned improvements include the construction of a roundabout; closure of the access from 155th Avenue and Camp Three Road to Lake Drive; widening of Kettle River Boulevard to accommodate a northbound left-turn lane and a southbound right-turn lane; and associated drainage enhancements. Anoka County is working in partnership with the City of Columbus.

Project Updates
As of April 1, 2026
The 60% plans are expected in April. Right-of-way acquisition is underway for the two impacted parcels. The City of Columbus has agreed to allow a detour on Camp 3 Road. Traffic modeling is being performed to determine appropriate traffic control for the detour.
