Project Background/Description
This project includes signal system upgrades and pedestrian ramp improvements along Round Lake Boulevard (County Highway 9), from 135th Avenue NW/Roosevelt Street to 143rd Avenue NW.
Signal systems between 135th Avenue NW/Roosevelt Street and 138th Lane NW have reached the end of their service life and will be reconstructed. More recent signal systems at 140th Lane NW and 143rd Avenue NW will undergo revisions. Planned improvements include Flashing Yellow Arrows, Accessible Pedestrian Signals (APS), and pedestrian ramps that meet current Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards. These enhancements will be completed at the following intersections:
135th Avenue NW/Roosevelt Street – Signal Reconstruction
136th Avenue NW – Signal Reconstruction
Bunker Lake Boulevard (County Highway 116) – Signal Reconstruction
138th Lane NW – Signal Reconstruction
140th Lane NW – Signal Revision
143rd Avenue NW – Signal Revision
In addition to the signal and ADA improvements, a pavement rehabilitation project (mill and overlay) is planned along Round Lake Boulevard from Bunker Lake Boulevard NW (County Highway 116) to 149th Lane NW.
Anoka County is partnering with the cities of Andover and Anoka to complete this project.

This Week: The electrical subcontractor is directional drilling conduit and installing temporary signal poles at various locations throughout the project.
Next Week: Directional drilling will continue, new signal system handholes will be installed, and temporary signal poles will be installed at the intersection of Bunker Lake Boulevard & Round Lake Boulevard.
