In the process of becoming a foster parent?

Initial Training

Before you can become a licensed Foster Parent, you must complete the Initial Training  View the required license trainings.

Ongoing Training

Licensed foster parents must complete 12 hours of training each annually, including:

Verification of completed trainings must be submitted to your Foster Care Social Worker to receive credit.  If a training does not provide a Certificate of Attendance, please complete a Self-Study Questionnaire. 

Self-Study Questionnaire - This form should be completed for any trainings that do not offer a certificate of attendance or post-test. This form will be submitted directly to Anoka County Foster Care.  Forms cannot be forwarded to other agencies.  If you are licensed by another agency, please consult with your social worker about how they would like to verify trainings.  A printable version of this form is available here: Self-Study Questionnaire (Printable) .

Record of Training - Every year, each license holder is required to turn in a Record of Training with their proof of attendance for each training completed
