Preliminary Parameters
Preliminary corridor vision and design parameters for CSAH 34 were developed based on input from the public and other stakeholders (TAC, NAC, focus groups, public open house). The design parameters were developed in accordance with the purpose and need goals set for the corridor and the corridor was divided into two segments based on land use (developed and developing). The following is an overview of the corridor vision and design parameters. Refer to the attached Vision and Design Criteria Matrix for more details.
Design Parameters
- Functional classification (i.e. minor arterial)
- Desired speed (40/50 mph)
- Roadway section (Four or two-lane urban divided)
- Trails (on both sides)
- Intersection spacing guidelines (1/4-mile to 1/2-mile spacing)
- Signal spacing (1/2-1 mile)
- Private access guidelines (future access strongly discouraged)
- Right-of-way (Anoka County guidelines)
- Forecasted traffic volumes
Corridor Segments
These are based on land use, both developed and developing:
- Segment 1 Developed: Hodgson Road (CSAH 49) to Black Duck Drive
- Segment 2 Developing: Black Duck Drive to S 20th Avenue (CSAH 54)
