Preparing for Emergencies

Get a Kit - Make a Plan

Our goal is to help you plan in advance what you will do in an emergency. Be prepared to assess the situation, use common sense and whatever you have on hand to take care of yourself and your loved ones. Planning for every type of emergency begins with having a general plan in place and preparing your family in advance. By planning for emergencies you can save valuable time and possibly your life. Remember, for all emergencies call 911!

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security states that:
"Disaster preparedness is no longer the sole concern of earthquake-prone Californians and those who live in the part of the country known as 'Tornado Alley.' For Americans, preparedness must now account for man-made disasters as well as natural ones. Knowing what to do during an emergency is an important part of being prepared and may make all the difference when seconds count."
