To promote the safety and well-being of citizens by providing efficient and professional 911 dispatch services for all emergency and non-emergency calls and to provide technical management of the County’s E-911 system and public safety radio system.
Department Description
Emergency Communications has been providing public safety communications services to the citizens of Anoka County since 1974. The department answers 911 and non-emergency calls for the 363,881 citizens of the county and provides dispatch services for all 11 law enforcement agencies and 17 fire departments in the county. Emergency Communications is responsible for operating and maintaining the countywide 800 MHz public safety radio system, which is used by all county public safety responders.
