Mission

To improve health, save lives, and reduce the impact caused by opioids and other substances in Anoka County by managing opioid settlement funding and supporting strategic partnerships.

Vision

All Anoka County residents and partners are supported, engaged, and prepared to overcome the opioid crisis and meet the challenges related to substance use in the community.

Upcoming Events

All are invited to a free community screening event from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 3 at Lyric Arts Theatre, Anoka of “Faces of Hope," a documentary celebrating real stories of resilience, courage, and connections. The screening will take place at 6:30 p.m.

Opioid Settlement

In August 2021, the Office of the Minnesota Attorney General joined a $26 billion multi-state settlement agreement with more than a dozen companies that manufactured, sold, or distributed prescription painkillers for their role in fueling the opioid crisis.

As part of this settlement, Anoka County anticipates receiving approximately $18 million in disbursements over the next 18 years to address the opioid crisis and prevent opioid deaths in our community.

Settlement funding is allocated exclusively for initiatives focused on treatment and prevention within the areas of public health, human services, and public safety. This presents a chance to support approaches that not only tackle mental health and substance use requirements but also prioritize community-based primary prevention strategies aimed at enhancing the well-being of children and families.

RFP Notice
